Is the Raspberry Pi 5 compatibly with my racknex Raspberry Pi Rack Mount Kit?

Yes, because Raspberry Pi Ltd. has made sure to keep the proven credit card format. The dimensions and holes on the new Pi 5 are the same as the older generation Pi 2B, 3B, 3B+ and 4B. Therefore, you can install the new Pi 5 into your existing Rack Mount Kit without worrying about compatibility.

Can I use the new power on/off button?

With our Rail System, you can extend your Raspberry Pi Rack Mount Kit by 200 to 300 mm depending on the type. Therefore, accessing the new on/off button in combination with our Rail System is not a problem. If you haven’t chosen a Rail System, you can always order it separately in our store.

Can I use the new official Raspberry Pi Active Cooler in combination with a racknex Rack Mount Kit?

When you mount a Raspberry Pi in a 19-inch or 10-inch rack, you will usually be running something more intensive/heavy on it. Therefore, cooling is necessary to prevent thermal throttling of the Pi. The new Raspberry Pi Active Cooler is a good and affordable solution to prevent this and is fully compatible with our Rack Mount Kits.

Do I need to upgrade my power supply?

Depending on which power supply you have chosen, how many Pi’s and what setup you have set up, you may need to upgrade your power supply. We can’t give personal advice on this subject, but we would like to kindly remind you to check and keep this in mind before you run into unwanted problems.
